The post-pandemic educational landscape has undergone major changes, requiring the integration of technology with creative and flexible learning strategies. One potential response to these challenges is the design of instructional media that combines educational games with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This study explores how merging game-based media with PBL can improve learning effectiveness during the transition to digital education. Employing a literature review method, the paper evaluates existing research highlighting the role of interactive digital platforms in shaping learning outcomes. Findings demonstrate that educational games combined with PBL not only increase learner engagement but also enhance critical thinking abilities and problem-solving competencies. Developing such media calls for a structured instructional design framework, supported by educational technology that corresponds to learners’ needs as well as the demands of 21st-century skills. Consequently, the integration of game-based approaches and PBL emerges as a promising strategy to promote adaptive, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences in the new educational era.
