Abstract

In the rapidly advancing digital era, early childhood education encounters both significant challenges and unique opportunities in fostering children’s social-emotional development. This study examines how innovative learning strategies and open educational technologies contribute to enhancing social-emotional competencies in young learners. A literature review of several selected international journal articles indicates that collaborative learning methods, project-based learning, and the use of digital platforms, such as open learning applications, play a crucial role in developing empathy, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills among children. Open educational technologies provide greater access and flexibility, allowing educators to create learning environments that are responsive to students emotional and social needs. The findings highlight that thoughtfully integrating innovative strategies and digital tools into early childhood education can support holistic development, fostering both cognitive and emotional growth. These insights serve as valuable guidance for educators, curriculum designers, and policymakers in creating inclusive, emotionally supportive, and digitally enriched learning experiences for children.
